Article 20- Dimensions of Escalator Steps & Moving walk PalletsAccording to the standard EN 115, the escalators step width must be between 580 mm and 1100 mm, as a result, the common step widths are divided into three types: 600, 800, and 1000 millimetres.
According to the standard EN 115, the step depth must be not less than 380 mm and the height between two steps must not exceed 240 mm. As a result, in escalators, the common step depth is 400 millimetres and the common height between two steps in 30-degree escalators is equal to 200 millimetres and for 35-degree escalators, this is equal to 230 millimetres.
According to the standard EN 115, the moving walk pallet width must be between 580 and 1100 millimetres, but in moving walks with an angle of inclination up to 6°, the authorized widths can be up to 1650 millimetres. As a result, in moving walks with 0 to 6 degree inclination, the common pallet widths are 1000, 1200 and 1400 millimetres, while in moving walks with 10 to 12 degree inclination, the common pallet width are 800 and 1000 millimetres.
