Escalators and Moving Walks Based on Utilization
Escalators and moving walks divide into two categories based on their utilization:
As can be understood from the name, we install these types of escalators and moving walks in commercial buildings, such as small and large shopping malls. We often install this type of escalators and moving walks indoors where there is usually normal passenger traffic. Typically, people select glass balustrades for commercial escalators and moving walks. This type of balustrade is a favorite amongst architects and interior designers alike. It uses a 10-millimeter-thick tempered glass with a thin handrail, giving it a light and contemporary look.
These types of escalators and moving walks are suitable for high-traffic environments, i.e. subway or train stations, airports, overpasses, etc. They have to carry a heavy passenger load in peak times. Based on standards, this type of escalators and moving walks have their own set of options and specifications, enabling them to operate under heavy workloads, which is the reason why we call them “heavy-duty”. The balustrade used for this type of escalators is usually stainless steel, which provides a higher durability, making them more suitable for high-traffic situations. Based on their choice, the customer can order the inner part of the balustrade in a vertical or inclined orientation.
